Nativescape designed and constructed a native riparian tree and shrub buffer along the River Raisin at the newly acquired Leonard Preserve. Ten acres of native trees and shrubs were installed in 2005 adjacent to the river in order to improve wildlife habitat and enhance a degraded riparian buffer. There are two years of establishment that Nativescape is performing for the County. This was part of the Natural Areas Program of Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation Department in an effort to preserve and restore the native prairie and riparian ecosystems of Washtenaw County.
