Ecological educational landscapes were developed using natural landscape design, outdoor classroom development, rain gardens, and native Michigan habitats for the Grosse Ile School System campuses. This provides on-site water treatment, reduced maintenance, and management that will give students hands-on experience. This was created for educational demonstration, habitat restoration as well as practical application. These landscape elements e.g. rain gardens perform necessary functions to maintain water quality.
The project is in the concept phase. Nativescape is researching funding sources for construction plan development for the individual landscape elements.
